190th Muttichira Shuhada Anniversary Tomorrow; Preparations Complete at Falah Campus
Tirurangadi: The 190th annual commemoration (Aandu Nercha) of the historic Muttichira Shuhada (martyrs) will be held tomorrow, Friday (March 27, 2026), at the Falah Campus located behind the Muttichira Juma Masjid. The event is being organized under the joint auspices of various Sunni organizations.
The proceedings will commence at 4:00 PM with the Ziyarat (tomb visitation) at the Shuhada Maqam, led by Sayyid Sharafuddin Jamallullaili Chelari. Following this, Sayyid Zainul Abid Thurab Saqafi Thalappara will perform the ceremonial flag hoisting.
The spiritual sessions will continue with a Moulid gathering led by Sayyid Nuruddin Jifri. The formal public conference, scheduled for 7:00 PM, will be inaugurated by E. Sulaiman Musliyar, President of Samastha (Raeesul Ulama).
The keynote address will be delivered by Rahmathulla Saqafi Elamaram, General Secretary of SYS State Committee. Abubacker Master Padikkal will present a historical discourse on the Muttichira martyrs. The session will be presided over by Sayyid Habib Thurab Thangal.
Distinguished guests and speakers include Swadiq Master Velimukku (SYS State Treasurer), Abdul Majeed Ahsani (SYS Malappuram West District President), MN Kunjimuhammed Haji, Muhammed Haji Moonniyur, Sayyid Swadiq Thurab Saqafi, Farooq Saqafi Chinakkal, Uwais Adani Vazhikkadavu, and Jareer Kaithakath.
The event will conclude with a final prayer led by Sayyid Salih Thurab Thangal Kozhikode.
Annadanam and Traditions
As part of the tradition, Annadanam (food distribution) will begin at 4:30 PM for all devotees. Historically, pilgrims arrive from various parts of the state carrying ‘Pathiri’ (rice bread) to commemorate the 11 martyrs. Meat and pathiri will be served to the gathering. The organizing committee has made extensive arrangements at the Falah Campus to accommodate the large influx of believers expected from across the region.
