Balotra (Rajasthan): Residents of the Housing Board area in Balotra experienced a sudden change in weather conditions after an extremely hot day, as light drizzle was recorded late at night.
According to local observations, the temperature during the day reached around 46°C, with heatwave conditions prevailing across parts of Balotra and Barmer district. The intense heat kept most people indoors during the afternoon hours.
At around 11 PM, a brief spell of light rain was reported in parts of the Housing Board area. The drizzle brought temporary relief from the prevailing hot and dry winds, commonly known as “loo.”
Weather experts note that such late-night drizzles can occur due to localized convective activity. Prolonged daytime heating may create low-pressure conditions that draw in moisture, leading to short spells of rain or drizzle.
While the rainfall was light, it contributed to a slight drop in temperature and improved comfort levels for residents.
