Greater Noida: The upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar has achieved a significant milestone after receiving security vetting clearance from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). The approval marks an important step toward the launch of flight operations at the much-anticipated airport in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh.
Officials associated with the project stated that the BCAS clearance confirms that the airport’s security arrangements comply with national aviation safety standards. The inspection reviewed several key aspects, including passenger screening systems, surveillance infrastructure, access control, and emergency security protocols.
Following this clearance, the airport is now awaiting the final aerodrome licence from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Once the licence is issued, the airport will be ready to begin commercial flight operations.
The Noida International Airport is considered one of the most ambitious aviation infrastructure projects in India. In its first phase, the airport is expected to handle millions of passengers annually and will provide improved connectivity to Delhi-NCR and nearby regions of western Uttar Pradesh.
Authorities believe the airport will play a crucial role in boosting regional economic growth, tourism, trade, and employment opportunities once it becomes fully operational.
