Debunking the Claims: No Evidence of US B-2 Bomber Shot Down in Viral Iran Strike Video

A video circulating widely on social media has sparked unverified claims that Iranian forces shot down a US B-2 bomber during the recent US-Israeli strike on Iran.

The footage was shared on the social media platform X by journalist Suliaman Ahmed. In his caption accompanying the video, Ahmed wrote that “a large aerial object appears to have been shot down near Mount Damavand in northern Iran,” adding that the footage shows “a burning object falling from the sky before exploding on impact.”

Mount Damavand is a prominent peak located northeast of Tehran and is often visible from large parts of northern Iran. The video’s reference to the area quickly triggered speculation online, with several social media users suggesting that the object could have been a US-operated B-2 bomber allegedly involved in Saturday’s military action.

However, Ahmed did not explicitly identify the aircraft as a B-2 bomber in his post. The claim emerged largely from user speculation in the comments and reposts that followed.

There have been no official confirmations from the United States, Iran, or independent defense monitoring agencies that a B-2 bomber has been shot down. There are also no verified reports of any US aircraft losses linked to the strike.

The authenticity, timing, and location of the viral video remain unverified. Without corroboration from official sources or independent geolocation analysis, the claims circulating online cannot be substantiated.

The video continues to gain traction across social media platforms amid heightened tensions in the region.
