Governor’s Medal for NCC Excellence: Saswata Patra Makes College Proud

Kolkata, April 2026:
In a moment of immense pride for Maharaja Srischandra College, Cadet Saswata Patra of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) has achieved a remarkable distinction by being awarded the prestigious Governor’s Medal for his outstanding performance and exemplary dedication.
Cadet Patra, a member of the 19th Battalion NCC Army Wing (Company 19/4) of the college’s NCC Unit, was honoured by the Honourable Governor of West Bengal, C. V. Ananda Bose, in recognition of his exceptional commitment, discipline, and leadership qualities.
Adding to this achievement, he was also adjudged the Best Cadet at the Group Headquarters Level by the National Cadet Corps. As a token of appreciation for his hard work and dedication, Cadet Patra received a cash award of Rs. 3,500.
The accomplishment has brought great honour to the institution and its NCC Unit. College authorities, NCC officers, and fellow cadets have extended their heartfelt congratulations, praising his perseverance and dedication. His success serves as a source of inspiration for young cadets and students, highlighting the values of discipline, service, and excellence fostered by the NCC.
