Gulf States Release Data on Iranian Missiles and Drones Fired Since Start of U.S.–Israeli Air War

Gulf defence ministries have released updated figures detailing the scale of drones and missiles fired by Iran towards their territories since the start of the U.S.–Israeli air war against Tehran. The statistics provide the clearest official breakdown so far of aerial threats detected and intercepted across the region.

In the United Arab Emirates, authorities reported detecting 186 ballistic missiles. Of these, 172 were intercepted by air defence systems. Thirteen missiles fell into the sea, while one landed on UAE territory. No further official details were released regarding damage or casualties linked to the missile that reached land.

The UAE also recorded a significant volume of drone activity. A total of 812 drones were detected in its airspace or approaches. Of these, 755 were intercepted, while 57 fell within UAE territory. Defence officials did not specify whether the drones that fell caused material damage.

In Qatar, the Ministry of Defence confirmed that 101 ballistic missiles were detected, with 98 successfully intercepted. In addition to ballistic threats, Qatari authorities detected 39 drones, intercepting 24 of them. Three cruise missiles were also detected and intercepted. Qatar further reported detecting and intercepting two Sukhoi Su-24 aircraft during the same period, indicating a broader spectrum of aerial activity beyond unmanned systems and missile launches.

Bahrain reported the destruction of 73 missiles and 91 drones. The figures released by Manama did not specify whether the missiles were ballistic or cruise types, nor did they detail how many projectiles may have fallen outside populated areas.

In Kuwait, officials stated that 178 ballistic missiles were monitored and intercepted. Kuwaiti authorities also reported monitoring and intercepting 384 drones during the conflict period.

No official data was made available by Saudi Arabia or Oman.

The figures reflect a sustained and multi-layered aerial campaign involving ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, drones and manned aircraft. Gulf states have relied heavily on integrated air defence networks to track, monitor and neutralise incoming threats, as tensions linked to the ongoing U.S.–Israeli operations against Iran continue to reverberate across the region.
