Kurnool: Financial Assistance Announced for Couples Marrying on May 16

In Kurnool, former Rajya Sabha member T. G. Venkatesh has announced financial assistance for couples who choose to get married on May 16, marking his birthday.

Speaking at the inauguration of an office at Mourya Inn for distributing application forms, he said the initiative is part of his long-standing effort to support mass marriages. He noted that such programmes have been organised by him for over three decades.

According to the announcement, eligible couples may receive financial assistance of ₹80,000 along with essential wedding items such as mangalsutra, toe rings, and clothing.

Applicants must meet legal age requirements, with the groom being at least 21 years old and the bride 18. Additionally, at least one of the applicants should belong to Kurnool constituency or nearby areas including Panchalingala, E-Thandrapadu, Gondiparla, Poolathota, Devamada, or Doddipadu.

Organisers stated that applicants are required to submit a declaration as part of the application process. The scheme is open to people from all communities.
