Srinagar, June 21: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha participated in the International Day of Yoga celebrations at Dal Lake in Srinagar on Saturday and welcomed the large-scale participation witnessed across Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing participants, the Lieutenant Governor said Yoga has emerged as a global movement for health, wellness, and inner harmony. He noted that people from different backgrounds have embraced the practice, reflecting its growing relevance in modern life.
Joining citizens, youth, officials, and fitness enthusiasts at the event, Manoj Sinha said that maintaining a balance between physical health, mental well-being, and emotional stability is essential in today’s fast-paced world. He observed that Yoga can help individuals improve self-awareness, manage stress, and promote overall well-being.
The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the international recognition of Yoga and said the ancient Indian practice continues to contribute to global health and wellness. He added that Yoga supports physical fitness, mental resilience, and emotional balance.
Encouraging citizens, particularly young people, to adopt Yoga as part of their daily routine, he said regular practice can contribute to a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.
International Day of Yoga was observed at various locations across Jammu and Kashmir, with participation from citizens, government officials, educational institutions, and community organizations.
