Madhya Pradesh High Court Cancels Vijaypur Assembly MLA Election. — BJP Leader Declared Next Winner.

Bhopal, March 10, IPU Media Update News: The Gwalior bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court has annulled the election of the Congress MLA who won the Vijaypur assembly by-election. The BJP leader who secured the majority of votes was declared the winner (MLA). However, the Congress MLA was given a week’s time to challenge this verdict in the high court. Congress candidate Mukesh Malhotra won the by-election held last year for the Vijaypur assembly seat in Madhya Pradesh. He was elected as the MLA of that constituency.

Meanwhile, BJP candidate and former minister Ramniwas Rawat has alleged that Mukesh Malhotra concealed crucial information about criminal cases in the affidavit submitted during nomination. He approached the Gwalior bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

On the other hand, the high court heard this petition. The court has confirmed that Mukesh Malhotra failed to provide full details of four criminal cases in his nomination affidavit. In this context, the high court has cancelled his MLA election. The high court has declared the next-placed BJP leader Ramnivas Rawat as the winner (as MLA).

However, the court has given a week’s time to Congress MLA Mukesh Malhotra to challenge this verdict in the high court. In this context, it has stayed the verdict for 15 days.
