A woman from Manipur and her transgender friend from Assam were attacked near the Saket District Court in Delhi, prompting calls for immediate and stringent action against the perpetrators.

Describing the attack as “sickening,” Sangma voiced his deep concern over the recurring violence faced by people from the North East in mainland India. He stressed that such acts of racial bullying should never become normalized in society. He stated, “The physical attack on our people from Manipur and Assam is troubling. Racial bullying should not be tolerated, and we must act against it.”
