Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh, May 6: In a rare medical case, a woman in Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh delivered quadruplets during her first pregnancy at the district government hospital. The babies—two boys and two girls—were born within a span of about one hour, according to hospital officials.
The mother, Pooja Suman, a resident of Berupura village in Veerpur tehsil, went into labor before completing seven months of pregnancy, raising concerns about premature delivery. Family members were initially worried about the health and survival of the newborns due to the early stage of the pregnancy.
However, doctors confirmed that both the mother and the babies are currently stable. Civil Surgeon Dr. R.B. Goyal stated that each infant weighs approximately one kilogram, which is below the normal birth weight. As a precaution, all four babies are being kept under close medical supervision and special care.
Doctors also noted that in such cases, deliveries are often conducted through Caesarean section. However, in this instance, the delivery was carried out normally. A specialized medical team continues to monitor the health of the newborns and the mother.
Family members expressed happiness over the safe delivery. Hospital authorities stated that continuous monitoring will be maintained to ensure the well-being of the infants.
