Independence Day is celebrated on 15th August of every year. It is a national day off for every indian. This day we remember the great struggle of freedom. Every state and Union Territory of our country celebrates this day. It is the day on which the Indian Subcontinent got independence after a long struggle. On this day every citizen echoes with festive feeling and pride. It's not only a celebration of independence but also of the unity in diversity of the country. On this day,we pray tribute to all the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for India's independence. Flag hoisting ceremonies are held in schools, colleges and Government offices, followed by speeches and cultural programs. This day inspires us to be united patriotic and responsible citizens. We should always work honestly for the progress and honour of our country.Prime Minister Narendra Modi leads the national celebrations with the traditional flag hoisting and an address to the nation from the historic Red Fort in New Delhi.
