46-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies After Truck Collision on Aarey Flyover

A 46-year-old motorcyclist died after his motorcycle was allegedly struck by a truck on the Aarey Flyover along the Western Express Highway in Goregaon East on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Sushil Sharma, a resident of Andheri East who worked for a private company in Malad West. According to a complaint filed by his 73-year-old father, Sharma left his home around 1 pm on his motorcycle to travel to work.

At around 1:30 pm, while Sharma was travelling towards Malad, a truck allegedly approached from the left side and collided with his motorcycle. The impact threw him onto the road, and according to the complaint, one of the truck's wheels reportedly ran over him.

A passer-by, identified as Adarsh Singh, reportedly informed Sharma's family about the accident. A tempo driver who was passing through the area stopped and helped transport the injured motorcyclist to the Jogeshwari Trauma Care Centre.

Despite receiving medical treatment, Sharma succumbed to his injuries at around 2:15 pm.

Following the incident, police registered a case against the truck driver based on the complaint, alleging negligent driving that resulted in the fatal crash.

The accused driver has been served a notice, while further investigation into the circumstances of the accident is underway.

Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the collision, including the sequence of events and the alleged involvement of the truck.
