Visakhapatnam, August 5, IPU Media Update News: Another key step forward has been taken in the sports sector of Sagara Visakhapatnam. State IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for the construction work of the 'Center for Sports Excellence' being set up by Indian star badminton player and Olympic bronze medalist PV Sindhu. This academy will be built in Thotagaruvu near Arilova.

Minister Nara Lokesh, who attended the program, was given a grand welcome by PV Sindhu, her family members, Sports Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy and local public representatives. Later, PV Sindhu, along with Sports Minister Nara Lokesh, performed a scientific ground-breaking ceremony and formally inaugurated the construction work. He unveiled the stone plaque installed on the occasion.

Later, Minister Nara Lokesh examined the model of the academy building and the state-of-the-art facilities that will be made available to the athletes with interest. He asked Sindhu about the goals and facilities of the academy. He watched a special audio-visual (AV) presentation made on this project.

TDP State President Palla Srinivasa Rao, MLAs Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Velagapudi Ramakrishnababu, SHAP Chairman Animini Ravinaidu, SHAP MD Bharani, Green Co Energy Director Chalamalasetti Swathi and others participated in the program.
