The government has arranged for additional buses to transport stranded passengers to their respective destinations. Government buses will provide free service to take passengers to their destinations as an alternative to trains.

A fresh landslide has occurred on the railway tracks near New Farakka Railway Station while repair work was underway, causing a temporary halt to the operations. The landslide caused an overhead electric pole to buckle. Numerous trains bound for North Bengal have been cancelled, and many others are stranded across the Malda and Murshidabad divisions. The state government has arranged for food and drinking water for the stranded passengers and has also organized additional buses to transport them to their respective destinations.

An additional 23 buses have been deployed on the Kolkata-Siliguri route. Today, 18 buses will operate from Siliguri to Kolkata. Two extra buses have been allocated for the Durgapur-Balurghat route, and five buses are running as a special service on the Malda-Kolkata route. For passengers departing for North Bengal in the evening, a special bus service has been introduced from Kolkata's Esplanade Bus Terminus to Siliguri's NGP Bus Terminus.Bus services will be available every hour from 5:30 PM until 9:30 PM.

Several passenger trains are stranded in the Malda and Murshidabad divisions due to a landslide at Farakka. The government has arranged for food and water to be provided to the stranded passengers on board the trains. Additionally, the administration has deployed 20 government buses to transport the passengers to their destinations, and they will not be charged any fare for this service.

The Railways is working with war-footing urgency, while the government remains vigilant around the clock regarding passenger safety. The Chief Minister has offered assurances from Nabanna concerning the safety of passengers.
