Former Karnataka Education Minister B C Nagesh Dies at 67

Bengaluru: Former Karnataka Education Minister and Tiptur MLA B C Nagesh died in Bengaluru on Tuesday at the age of 67, according to party sources.

Nagesh had been facing health issues for some time and died at his daughter's residence, the sources said. His last rites are expected to be held in his native Tiptur in Tumakuru district on Wednesday.

A senior BJP leader from Karnataka, Nagesh represented Tiptur in the Legislative Assembly and served as School Education and Literacy Minister in the Basavaraj Bommai government.

BJP state president B Y Vijayendra, former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy were among the leaders who expressed condolences following his death.

Nagesh's public career was closely associated with Karnataka's education administration. During his tenure as education minister, he was involved in policy discussions related to schools, curriculum and the state's education system.

His death marks the loss of a former legislator and minister who remained active in Karnataka's political life, particularly in Tumakuru district.
