MLA Dr. Siddalingappa Patil Raises Concerns Over Industrial Pollution in Humnabad

Humnabad, Karnataka: Concerns over alleged industrial pollution in the Humnabad Industrial Area were raised during a “Save Guru Ganga” consultation meeting held at Manikya Soudha Kalyana Mantapa in Maniknagar.

During the meeting, Humnabad MLA Dr. Siddalingappa Patil expressed concern over the alleged discharge of chemical and solid waste from industries in the area and its possible impact on the surrounding environment and communities.

According to concerns raised during the meeting, residents of Maniknagar, Gadwanti, Molkera, Dhumansur, Basantpur and nearby villages may be affected by pollution-related issues. Agricultural land, livestock, aquatic life, water resources and public health were among the matters discussed.

Dr. Siddalingappa Patil said that the health and welfare of people in the Humnabad constituency and protection of the Guru Ganga should remain priorities. He stated that the issue would be raised for discussion during the Monsoon Session of the Karnataka Legislature, beginning August 13.

The MLA also said that appropriate action should be taken against industries found to be violating environmental regulations, in accordance with applicable laws and the findings of competent authorities.

The meeting focused on the need for proper monitoring of industrial waste, assessment of water quality and effective implementation of environmental regulations. Participants called for necessary action to protect water resources and the surrounding environment.

Further action, including inspections or legal measures, would depend on the findings of the concerned authorities and applicable environmental regulations.
