Hyderabad–Mangaluru Central Weekly Special Train Service Extended Till November 2026

HYDERABAD: Passengers travelling between Hyderabad and the west coast will have an additional rail option as the South Central Railway (SCR) has extended the Hyderabad–Mangaluru Central weekly special train service until November 2026. The extension comes amid increased passenger demand on the long-distance route.

Train No. 07097, Hyderabad–Mangaluru Central Weekly Special, will operate every Wednesday from September 9 to November 25, covering 12 services during the extended period. The train will depart Hyderabad at 4.20 am on Wednesdays and reach Mangaluru Central at 9.30 am the following day.

The return service, Train No. 07098, Mangaluru Central–Hyderabad Weekly Special, will operate every Thursday from September 10 to November 26, also making 12 trips. It will depart Mangaluru Central at 8 pm and reach Hyderabad at around 4 am on Saturday.

Route Covers Four States

The special train provides an important rail link across Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, passing through several important commercial and passenger centres.

Major stoppages include Begumpet, Raichur, Mantralayam Road, Guntakal, Anantapur, Dharmavaram, Bangarapet, Kuppam, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Palakkad, Thalassery, Kannur, Kasaragod and Mangaluru, among other stations.

The route is particularly useful for passengers travelling towards Kerala's Malabar region and the coastal Karnataka belt, while also providing connectivity to major industrial and commercial centres along the route.

Return Journey Timings Revised

While the existing stoppages and train composition will continue, SCR has revised timings for Train No. 07098 on the Mangaluru–Hyderabad route at certain stations. Passengers have been advised to check the latest schedule before beginning their journey.

The extension means passengers will have an additional weekly travel option during the September-November period, when demand on long-distance routes generally increases.

12 Additional Trips Each Way

With 12 services in each direction, the extended operation will provide additional seating capacity on the Hyderabad–Mangaluru corridor over the coming months.

Railway authorities have advised passengers to verify the latest departure, arrival and stoppage timings through the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) before travelling, particularly because of the revised timings on the return service.

The extended service is expected to provide relief to passengers looking for a direct weekly rail option between Hyderabad and Mangaluru, while strengthening connectivity between the southern states ahead of the upcoming festive travel season.
