A horrific road accident was reported near Seedhi Itara in Kanpur's Sachendi area, where a speeding trailer collided head-on with a pickup vehicle on the Kisan Nagar-Bidhnu Road on Thursday.

According to reports, the trailer was travelling from Bidhnu towards Kisan Nagar when it collided with the pickup coming from the opposite direction. The impact was reportedly so severe that both vehicle drivers died at the spot. The accident was captured on CCTV, and the footage later surfaced on social media.

The deceased were identified as 40-year-old Neeraj Kumar, who was driving the trailer, and 40-year-old Kuldeep Kumar, who was driving the pickup. Bottles of cold drinks being carried in the pickup were reportedly scattered across the road following the collision.

After receiving information, Sachendi police reached the spot and took the bodies into custody before sending them for post-mortem examination. The damaged vehicles were subsequently moved to the roadside with the help of a backhoe loader.

Traffic on the road was affected for around 30 minutes as authorities cleared the accident site. Police said further investigation into the circumstances of the collision is underway.
