Kendrapara: Continuous rainfall triggered by a low-pressure system has created severe hardships in Jampada village under Marshaghai block of Kendrapara district.

Due to poor drainage, rainwater is not being discharged properly, leading to waterlogging in low-lying areas. As a result, rainwater has entered several houses, forcing residents to face immense difficulties in their daily life. Household items have been damaged and people are struggling to cook and sleep.

The situation has worsened as the main village road has been submerged under rainwater, disrupting road connectivity and affecting movement of villagers, school children and elderly persons.

Adding to the woes, the area is experiencing power cuts for 10 to 12 hours daily due to incessant rain. With electricity supply remaining disrupted for long hours, consumers are highly distressed, especially during night time. Students are unable to study and mobile charging has become a problem.

Villagers have urged the block administration to ensure immediate drainage of water and restore uninterrupted power supply.
