Newsbeat Doshobujha Sanman 2026 Poster Unveiled in Kolkata

Kolkata: Newsbeat Media India Group, in association with Roy’s Taekwondo Academy, unveiled the official poster for Newsbeat Doshobujha Sanman 2026 at Avidipta 2 Housing Complex in Kolkata. The initiative marks its 12th year of recognising Durga Puja traditions, artistic contributions and community participation in Bengal.

Classical dancer Ankita Dutta Karmakar was introduced as the creative face of the 2026 campaign. The initiative was conceptualised by Kunal Roy Chowdhury, Founder and CEO, and Paushali Kar, Executive Editor and Creative Head.

The campaign’s creative team includes fashion designer Santanu Guha Thakurata, makeup artists Baishaki Naskar and Misti, and photographer Souptik Naskar.

The poster launch was attended by several personalities from the cultural and creative fields, including Grand Master Pradipta Kumar Roy, Senior Master Ruma Roy Chowdhury, Pandit Achinta Bhattacharya, musician Abhishek Basu and actor Supratim Roy. Representatives of Durga Puja committees from different parts of Bengal were also present, according to the organisers.

Expanded Coverage for the 2026 Edition

According to the organisers, the 2026 edition will cover North Kolkata, South Kolkata and Howrah. It will also introduce dedicated categories for housing complex and society-based Durga Puja celebrations.

The planned award categories include Best Theme Maker, Best Social Message, Champion of Champions and Heritage Puja. These categories are intended to recognise different aspects of Puja celebrations, including creative themes, social awareness and the preservation of traditional practices.

Durga Puja is an important cultural festival in West Bengal, bringing together artistic displays, community participation and longstanding traditions. Events and awards associated with the festival provide a platform for Puja committees to showcase their work and creative approaches.
