Noida: Scaffolding Collapse at Under-Construction Building Damages 14 Vehicles, No Casualties Reported
A scaffolding structure from an under-construction building collapsed in Noida's Sector 62 on Thursday, October 15, damaging 14 vehicles parked at a nearby company's premises. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
The incident reportedly took place at Ithum Heights, where strong winds caused the building's shuttering and scaffolding to fall onto vehicles parked at the premises of Graph City India Private Limited, a neighbouring company.
The collapse damaged more than a dozen vehicles and triggered panic among people present at the location.
A video of the incident has surfaced on social media, showing the fallen construction structure spread across several parked vehicles. Following the collapse, a crowd gathered at the site as people assessed the damage.
Police personnel from Sector 58 police station reached the location and inspected the area. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances that led to the collapse, while the extent of damage to the vehicles is being assessed.
Although the incident resulted in significant property damage, no loss of life was reported. The incident has once again raised concerns about construction-site safety and the risks posed by falling structures during adverse weather conditions.
