Parbhani (Correspondent), Sept. 22: Players should focus on playing the game sincerely and following its fundamental principles rather than being overly concerned about victory or defeat, said international kickboxer Nita Chaudhary.
She was speaking while guiding students during a school boxing competition organised jointly by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Services, Maharashtra, Pune; District Sports Officer’s Office, Parbhani; and Parbhani District Boxing Association.
Shantilal Chaudhary presided over the programme, while Siddharth Kamble, Dr. Amit Borgaonkar and Nilesh Kandere were present as chief guests.
Addressing the students, Chaudhary said regular practice helps students develop various skills. She urged them to remain committed to the fundamentals of the sport and practise with honesty and discipline. She stressed that the manner in which a player competes sincerely is more important than merely winning or losing.
In his presidential address, Shantilal Chaudhary said the association has great potential and is working towards developing national and international-level players.
Siddharth Kamble and Dr. Borgaonkar also guided the students. District Boxing Association Secretary Dhananjay Bansode delivered the introductory remarks and conducted the proceedings, while Monali Dhangar proposed the vote of thanks.
