Commuters and Truck Drivers Seek Immediate Repair of Pastikudi–Deypur Stretch on Bhawanipatna Bypass Road

Kalahandi, Odisha: A vital stretch of the Bhawanipatna Bypass Road between Pastikudi and Deypur, near Dadpur Bridge, has reportedly deteriorated significantly, causing difficulties for daily commuters and raising concerns about road safety.

The road surface has developed large potholes, damaged patches and water-filled depressions. During the rainy season, stagnant water can make it difficult for motorists to assess the depth of the potholes, adding to the challenges faced by commuters.

The stretch is frequently used by heavy trucks, cars, motorcycles and other vehicles. The movement of heavy vehicles along the damaged road has made it difficult for smaller vehicles and two-wheelers to navigate the area, particularly when motorists attempt to avoid potholes and oncoming traffic.

Commuters and truck drivers have reportedly urged the concerned authorities to take immediate steps to repair the damaged stretch and improve road conditions for safer and smoother movement of vehicles.

The deteriorating condition of the road has also highlighted the need for timely maintenance, particularly during the monsoon season when waterlogging can further affect the road surface.
