RT Launches Hindi Digital Platform in India Ahead of BRICS Summit, Expands Media Presence

Russian international news network RT has launched a dedicated Hindi-language digital platform in India, expanding its presence in the country beyond its existing English-language operations.

The new platform, rthindi.com, aims to provide Hindi-speaking audiences with news and analysis covering India, Russia and major international developments.

The launch comes just days before the BRICS Summit in New Delhi, scheduled for September 12–13, and ahead of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s expected visit to India.

According to the report, RT’s Hindi operation is intended to reach India’s large Hindi-speaking audience and strengthen the network’s India-focused media presence. The platform is expected to cover developments involving India and Russia as well as wider global affairs.

The timing of the launch is significant as India prepares to host the BRICS Summit, where leaders of member countries are expected to discuss issues including international cooperation, technology, trade and geopolitical developments.

RT had already established an India-focused English-language presence, with its latest Hindi initiative marking a further expansion into India's multilingual digital news market.

The move reflects the growing importance of regional-language digital platforms in reaching audiences across the country.

The launch also comes amid increased attention on India-Russia relations ahead of Putin’s expected visit and the upcoming BRICS discussions.

With the introduction of its Hindi platform, RT joins the growing number of international media organisations seeking to strengthen their digital reach among Indian-language audiences.
