More than 250 students join in, sending a strong message of "Against liquor, yes to education".

Mangalpura, Jajpur , 09/08/2026 A huge rally was held by the students of Sadhu Godeshwar College, Kanika Pada under Dasharathpur Block, to protest against alcohol on the college roads. A huge anti-alcohol awareness program was organized with the joint support of Odisha Students' Union and Sadhu Godeshwar College. The program started from the college campus and went to the main gate. More than 250 students enthusiastically participated in it and spread awareness against alcohol and drugs. The students raised various anti-drug slogans and conveyed the message of "Against alcohol, yes to education" to the public.
This awareness program was organized under the supervision of Odisha Students' Union State President Abhishek Dash and SG College Chairman Jitendra Kumar Dash.
Jajpur District President Saroj Mallik, Dasharathpur Block President Shivkant Mallik, Chandan Mallik, Satyajit Sethi, Jitendra Sahu, Saurabh Mallik, Prithvi Mallik, Debashis Das, Yagya Seni Kundu and Pranitha Das were prominently present at the event and joined the march.
On this occasion, the student leaders said that educational institutions are places of knowledge and character building. Therefore, the influence of alcohol and intoxicants should not be present in the vicinity of educational institutions. They expressed their opinion that the main objective of this campaign is to steer the youth away from addiction and towards education, skills and a bright future. The march, which was held under the slogan "Against Alcohol - Yes to Education", aimed to create anti-addiction awareness among the students and send a strong message for a healthy, disciplined and drug-free educational environment. The students also requested the government to close liquor shops on the college roads and said that they would hold a protest on the highway in the coming days. A Patoon force was deployed by the Mangalpura police to ensure that no untoward incident occurred during the protest.
