Political tensions in Punjab have escalated amid growing protests over alleged examination irregularities, with student groups demanding greater transparency and accountability from the state government. While demonstrations have intensified in several parts of the state, there is no credible evidence that a broad, organized student movement is currently demanding the resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Instead, the protests have largely focused on concerns surrounding examination and recruitment processes.

Responding to criticism, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann defended his government’s record, stating that no competitive examination paper had leaked during the Aam Aadmi Party government’s tenure. He rejected allegations made by political opponents and asserted that his administration has maintained transparency in conducting examinations.

Meanwhile, opposition leaders have accused the Punjab government of failing to safeguard the interests of students and job aspirants, citing alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations and demanding stricter oversight of the examination system.

As the debate continues, student organizations are urging both the state and central governments to implement stronger safeguards, ensure fair recruitment and examination processes, and restore confidence among lakhs of students preparing for competitive examinations.
