Noida: Authorities are moving ahead with plans to develop a six-lane road along the Yamuna embankment (Pushta) to improve traffic movement between Noida and Greater Noida. Officials said the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the proposed corridor is expected to be completed within the next two months.
A team of consultants associated with Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) recently inspected the proposed alignment and held discussions with officials from the Noida Authority regarding the feasibility of the project.
The proposed corridor is expected to stretch from the Sector-94 area to the region near Sector-150, running parallel to the Yamuna embankment. Once developed, the route could provide an alternative link to the Noida Expressway, which frequently experiences heavy traffic during peak hours.
Officials said that several technical aspects, including road design, environmental considerations, and land availability, are being examined as part of the DPR preparation. After the report is finalized, the project will move to the next stage of approvals before construction work can begin.
The proposed road is expected to significantly enhance connectivity in the rapidly developing Noida–Greater Noida region, where residential and commercial projects are expanding rapidly.
