By making a payment or availing any service through the IPU website or authorized channels, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Refund & Cancellation Policy.
1. Nature of Services & Membership
Indian Press Union provides professional membership programs, verification services, certifications, digital services, training initiatives, and organizational support to media professionals. All memberships and services are organizational in nature and are initiated only after internal processing, verification, and administrative allocation.
Due to the nature of these services, once initiated, they cannot be reversed or undone.
2. No Automatic Refund Policy
All fees paid to Indian Press Union are non-refundable and non-transferable, including but not limited to:
- Membership fees
- Registration charges
- Verification or processing fees
- ID card or certificate issuance fees
- Digital service charges
No refunds shall be issued once the payment is successfully processed.
3. Cancellation by User
- Users may request cancellation of a membership or service request.
- Cancellation requests do not entitle the user to any refund, whether the request is made before or after verification.
- Any benefits already provided shall stand withdrawn upon cancellation.
4. Rejection or Termination by IPU
IPU reserves the absolute right to reject, suspend, or terminate any membership or service request without refund in cases including but not limited to:
- Submission of false, misleading, or incomplete information
- Failure to meet eligibility or verification requirements
- Misuse of IPU name, ID, credentials, or branding
- Violation of Terms & Conditions or Code of Conduct
- Activities causing reputational, legal, or operational risk to IPU
5. Exceptional Circumstances
Refunds may be considered solely at the discretion of IPU management in exceptional cases such as:
- Duplicate payment made due to a technical error
- Payment debited but service not initiated due to a verified system failure
Any such refund, if approved, shall be processed only to the original mode of payment and within a reasonable processing time as determined by IPU.
6. Payment Gateway Failures
IPU shall not be responsible for delays, failures, or errors caused by third-party payment gateways, including Razorpay. In such cases, users must follow the resolution process prescribed by the respective payment gateway.
7. Chargebacks & Disputes
Any chargeback, payment reversal, or dispute raised without valid grounds may result in immediate suspension or permanent termination of membership or services. IPU reserves the right to contest chargebacks with supporting documentation.
8. Service Modifications
IPU reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any service, membership plan, or fee structure at its sole discretion without prior notice. Such changes shall not entitle users to refunds for services already availed.
9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
This Refund & Cancellation Policy shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of competent courts located in Uttar Pradesh, India.
