RPCAU Announces Regional Agriculture Fair 2026: Empowering Eastern India’s Farmers
Piprakothi, East Champaran | February 6, 2026
The agricultural landscape of Eastern India is set for a high-tech transformation as Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University (RPCAU) officially announces the Regional Agriculture Fair (RAF) 2026. Scheduled to take place from February 22 to 24 at the Piprakothi campus, the event carries the ambitious theme “Viksit Krishi – Unnat Bharat” (Developed Agriculture – Progressed India).
A Hub for Innovation
The fair is designed as a mega-platform for farmers from Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Odisha. Unlike traditional exhibitions, RAF 2026 places a heavy emphasis on climate-resilient technologies and digital integration. A major highlight this year is the “Drone-Didi” demonstration, showcasing how unmanned aerial vehicles can revolutionize pesticide spraying and crop monitoring for small-scale landholders.
Interactive Learning and Specialized Shows
The three-day program is structured to bridge the gap between scientific research and field application:
Scientific Seminars (Gosthi): Direct interactions where farmers can pose challenges to top agronomists.
Pet & Animal Show: A crowd-favorite featuring exotic birds, high-yield livestock, and domestic pets.
Fruit Show: An exhibition of premium produce ranging from indigenous varieties like the Ambri apple to exotic fruits like Kiwi, adapted for Bihar’s climate.
Tech Demonstrations: Live displays of “Per-Drop More-Crop” irrigation models and solar-powered farm machinery.
Driving the Second Green Revolution
University officials stated that the fair aims to foster an “Industry-Farmer” collaboration. By introducing biofortified crop varieties—such as the newly developed Shaktiman-5 maize—and sustainable “waste-to-wealth” models, RPCAU is positioning Piprakothi as a primary driver for the Second Green Revolution in Eastern India.
The event will conclude on February 24 with a valedictory session to honor innovative farmers who have successfully implemented organic and integrated farming systems.
