Trump discusses West Asia with Modi

New Delhi, March 24 (UNI) Amid the West Asia crisis, US President Donald Trump spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday evening and during this, the two leaders had a meaningful discussion on all aspects of this global crisis, including the Strait of Hormuz. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on social media that President Trump spoke to him and they had a meaningful discussion on the situation in West Asia. Modi said about his conversation on X that he received a call from President Trump and had a fruitful discussion on the situation in West Asia. India supports reducing tensions and establishing peace as soon as possible. Keeping the Strait of Hormuz open, safe and accessible is important for the entire world. We agreed to stay in touch in relation to efforts for peace and stability. Earlier, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore also confirmed the conversation between the two leaders on the social media platform and said that both of them discussed the situation in West Asia. He said that President Donald Trump just spoke to Prime Minister Modi. They discussed the current situation in West Asia, including the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar also discussed the situation in West Asia with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Monday evening. The two also discussed the impact of the crisis on the global economy, and in particular, concerns related to energy security.
