Kolkata, May 6, IPU Media Update News: A shooting incident reported from the Madhyamgram area in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal has resulted in the death of Chandranath Rath, who was reportedly associated with senior political leader Suvendu Adhikari.

According to preliminary reports, unidentified persons allegedly opened fire on Rath late Tuesday night while he was travelling in a vehicle. He sustained serious injuries in the incident and later died.

Police officials reached the spot soon after receiving information and have launched an investigation into the case. The area was secured, and forensic teams were deployed to collect evidence. Authorities are also reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas as part of the investigation.
