Ahmedabad Woman Alleges Dowry Harassment, Assault and Financial Fraud; Police Case Registered in Paldi
Ahmedabad: A case of alleged domestic violence, dowry harassment, and financial fraud has been reported in Ahmedabad, where a married woman has filed a complaint against her husband and mother-in-law. Following the complaint, Paldi police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
According to the complaint, the woman has alleged that she was subjected to repeated physical and mental harassment by her husband and mother-in-law. She has further claimed that they pressured her to bring ₹15 lakh from her parental home, reportedly stating that the amount was needed to support the husband’s plan to migrate to Australia.
The complainant has alleged that when she was unable to meet the demand, she was physically assaulted and subsequently forced to leave her matrimonial home.
In addition, the woman has alleged financial misconduct, stating that her husband accessed her demat account without her consent and withdrew funds, resulting in monetary loss. She has claimed that the transactions were carried out without her knowledge during the course of their marriage.
Police officials confirmed that a case has been registered at Paldi police station and an investigation is underway. Statements from both parties are expected to be recorded, and relevant financial documents, including demat account records, may be examined as part of the inquiry.
Authorities stated that appropriate legal action will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation.
