Rupnarayanpur, May 18: An atmosphere of profound grief and silence descended upon DAV Public School Rupnarayanpur following the demise of beloved educator Minku Mukherjee, whose passing has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of students, teachers, guardians and the entire DAV fraternity.

For decades, Minku Mukherjee was not merely a teacher or staff member of the institution — she was an emotion, a guiding light and one of the strongest pillars behind the growth and nurturing of DAV Rupnarayanpur during its formative years. Her unwavering dedication, affectionate nature and selfless commitment towards the institution helped shape countless young minds and strengthen the very foundation of the school.

Students remembered her as a motherly figure whose words carried warmth, encouragement and discipline in equal measure. Colleagues described her as a compassionate soul who devoted her life wholeheartedly to the service of education. Her presence in the corridors of the institution symbolised care, sincerity and an unbreakable bond with the DAV family.

The pain of her absence was deeply felt across the campus as teachers, students and well-wishers gathered to pay homage to a woman whose contribution can never truly be measured in words. Many expressed that with her passing, an entire era of devotion and sacrifice associated with DAV Rupnarayanpur has come to an end.

The present Principal of the institution, Dr. Poonam Singh, who joined the school in April 2025, paid an emotional tribute to Minku Mukherjee and acknowledged her immense contribution towards building and nurturing the institution. Since assuming charge, Dr. Singh has worked tirelessly for the progress and development of the school while also ensuring that the legacy of senior educators like Minku Miss continues to be honoured and remembered.

Recognising her lifelong dedication towards DAV Rupnarayanpur, Dr. Poonam Singh had felicitated Minku Mukherjee and publicly acknowledged her as one of the foundational pillars of the institution. The gesture reflected the immense respect and gratitude the school holds for her years of sacrifice and commitment.

In one of the most emotional moments, Dr. Poonam Singh stood beside the grieving family during the final rites of Minku Mukherjee at Chittaranjan Cremation Ghat. Her presence during the last farewell was not merely official, but deeply humane and heartfelt, symbolising the emotional bond shared within the DAV family. As tears flowed and prayers echoed through the cremation ground, the pain of losing a beloved mentor and guardian became evident in every grieving face present there.

The demise of Minku Mukherjee marks the end of a cherished chapter in the history of DAV Rupnarayanpur. Though she is no longer physically present among her students and colleagues, her ideals, values, affection and countless memories will continue to live forever in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched.

Her contribution to the institution shall remain immortal, inspiring future generations to serve education with the same love, humility and dedication that defined her extraordinary life.
