Hyderabad, April 2026: A Fly91 flight (IC3401) operating from Hyderabad to Hubballi was diverted to Bengaluru after being unable to land due to adverse weather conditions, airline officials confirmed.
According to the airline, the ATR turboprop aircraft remained airborne for an extended period, including holding patterns near Hubballi, before the crew decided to divert the flight as a safety measure.
Passengers on board reported anxiety during the prolonged duration in the air. Some videos circulating on social media showed emotional reactions among passengers. However, the airline clarified that there was no technical malfunction and that the diversion was carried out strictly in accordance with standard aviation safety protocols.
“Due to unfavorable weather conditions at Hubballi, the flight could not land as scheduled and was diverted to Bengaluru. The aircraft landed safely, and necessary arrangements were made for passengers onward,” the airline said in a statement.
Aviation experts note that such diversions are a routine part of flight operations when landing conditions are not suitable. Holding patterns and diversions are standard procedures to ensure passenger safety.
No injuries or damage were reported. Passengers were later assisted with onward travel arrangements.
