Inauguration of New Courts in Kurnool and Nandikotkur: Strengthening the Judiciary – Justice K. Srinivasa Reddy
On April 18, 2026, new court buildings in Kurnool and Nandikotkur were formally inaugurated by High Court Judges Justice B. Krishna Mohan, Justice K. Srinivasa Reddy, and Justice A. Harihara Nath Sharma, in the presence of District Judge Kabarthi. The inauguration marks a significant step toward strengthening the judicial infrastructure in the region. These newly established courts are aimed at improving access to justice, especially for people living in and around Kurnool and Nandikotkur, reducing the need for long-distance travel to seek legal remedies.
The initiative is part of a broader plan by the state judiciary to enhance the efficiency and reach of the legal system. Under this initiative, a total of 88 additional courts have been sanctioned across the state, out of which 21 courts have been allocated to the undivided Kurnool district. This expansion is expected to help in reducing the backlog of pending cases, ensuring faster disposal of cases, and improving overall judicial service delivery.
The judges emphasized that strengthening grassroots-level courts is essential for upholding the rule of law and ensuring timely justice. The new facilities are also expected to provide better infrastructure for judicial officers, staff, and litigants, thereby contributing to a more effective and people-centric justice system.
