Two-Day Internship Awareness Program Organized at Maharaja Srischandra College, Kolkata under NEP 2020

On 16th and 17th April 2026, the Internship Cell of Maharaja Srischandra College, Kolkata organized a two-day Internship Opportunities Awareness Program for students of the 2nd and 4th semesters across Commerce, Humanities, and Science disciplines.

The program aimed to introduce students to diverse internship opportunities aligned with industry requirements and academic guidelines under the University of Calcutta’s NEP curriculum (CCF 2022).

Day 1 Highlights

On 16th April, articleship opportunities were presented by two Chartered Accountant firms—FCA Supriyo Datta from RSA Co and FCA Souvik Goswami from Goswami Ghosh Associates.

Mr. Pallab Rohatgi from the Project Management Institute of India also introduced internship opportunities in project risk assessment and data privacy.

For Commerce students, a free internship opportunity in the securities market was presented. Mr. Subhayu Das, Assistant General Manager of the National Institute of Securities Market (NISM), Pune, joined virtually and addressed the students.

Parallel sessions were also conducted for Humanities and Science students. Library Science students were introduced to stock verification internships by Dr. Asim Kumar Das and Dr. Avijit Chakraborty, Librarian of the college.

For Education students, internship opportunities in simulated teaching were discussed by Dr. Zeba Jahan, Assistant Professor of Education.

Additionally, Bengali and English Honours students were introduced to a translation-based internship project by Dr. Ayan Chatterjee and Dr. Tilok Naskar.

Day 2 Highlights

On 17th April, the program expanded to national and international collaboration opportunities.

Prof. Sharmistha Banerjee, Department of Business Management, University of Calcutta, presented internship opportunities in collaboration with Caterfy and Bradley University, USA, focusing on working with small business enterprises.

Ms. Medha Paul from Uddami India Foundation introduced a free internship program on creative thinking and content writing.

A highly popular session on digital mobile photography internships was conducted by Mr. Rajib Chandra, Canon Mentor, along with representatives from Photography Charcha. Coordinators Sara Basu and Santanu Banerjee elaborated on the program details.

In the concluding session, Dr. Dipak Barapanda, Curator of the Asutosh Museum, University of Calcutta, and Dr. Sanjit Jodder, Assistant Professor, Department of Museology, discussed internship opportunities at the museum for History students.

For Political Science students, legal and democratic awareness internships were presented by Senior Advocate Ramyani Ghosal of the Calcutta High Court, along with internship opportunities at the chambers of Advocate Ghoshal and Advocate Kishore Mukherjee.

Conclusion

The two-day program successfully introduced students to a wide range of academic, industrial, and international internship opportunities, aligning with the objectives of NEP 2020 and enhancing career readiness among students.
