The Chairman and Secretary of the Karnataka State Minorities Commission met with the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Karnataka on June 22 to discuss the ongoing Special Summary Revision (SSR) of the electoral rolls and issues related to voter enumeration.
During the meeting, the CEO reviewed the progress of the voter mapping exercise and clarified various procedures related to the revision process.
According to information shared during the meeting, Karnataka had 5,54,32,314 registered electors in 2025. As of June 20, 2026, a total of 5,06,77,343 electors had been mapped, accounting for approximately 91.42 percent of the electorate. The mapping exercise is scheduled to continue until July 27, 2026.
Officials stated that the revision process aims to ensure that all eligible voters are included in the electoral rolls while preventing the inclusion of ineligible entries.
The CEO also clarified procedural aspects, including voter eligibility, attestation requirements, photograph submission, and the process for correcting voter details through the prescribed forms after publication of the draft electoral roll.
Citizens have been advised to cooperate with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during the enumeration process and to seek assistance through the Election Commission’s helpline if required.
