ACB Trap at Rajendranagar DM&HO Office, Three Booked in Bribery Case*
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted a trap at the District Medical & Health Officer’s office in Rajendranagar, Ranga Reddy district, on October 5.
According to the ACB, DM&HO Smt. Swarna Kumari, Health Inspector M. Srinivas, and private driver Madduri Krishnajah have been booked in the bribery case.
The ACB alleged that, on the instructions of Swarna Kumari and M. Srinivas, Krishnajah demanded ₹2 lakh from a complainant in connection with a private physiotherapy centre.
The alleged bribe was demanded for returning the seized keys of the centre, not taking further action against it for allegedly operating without a DM&HO licence, and facilitating the issue of a new DM&HO licence.
During the ACB trap, Krishnajah allegedly accepted ₹1 lakh. The bribe amount was subsequently recovered from his possession.
The ACB has alleged that the two officials improperly and dishonestly performed their official duties to obtain an undue advantage.
All three accused are being produced before the I Additional Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases at Nampally for judicial remand.
The case is under investigation, while the identity of the complainant has been withheld for security reasons.
Further details are awaited. less
