Central Government Must Hold Talks With Students – Priyanka Gandhi
Delhi, July 23,IPU Media Update News : Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi has urged the Central Government to immediately respond to the demands of students protesting at Jantar Mantar against paper leaks and flaws in the education system. She stated that students have lost faith in the current system and demanded that the government speak directly with them to address their grievances.
Priyanka emphasized that the government has a responsibility to listen to the students' demands. She made it clear that students are no longer willing to accept the half-hearted solutions offered by the system. She called for the immediate resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and demanded a comprehensive inquiry into the lathi-charge and attacks on the protesting students.
"You tweet about having faith in students, yet you order a lathi-charge against them overnight. If you truly care about the students, invite them for a direct dialogue," she challenged the Centre. Criticizing the government's attitude, she drew a comparison: "The government's behavior is like a father who, without listening to his child's desire to become a designer, simply announces that he has booked a seat for them in an engineering college." Priyanka Gandhi demanded that leaders set aside their apprehensions and listen to the anguish of the thousands of youths who have gathered at Jantar Mantar, and that a new bill be introduced in Parliament to completely overhaul the education system.
