Continuous rainfall across the national capital has caused widespread disruption, with several houses collapsing, trees being uprooted, and waterlogging affecting normal life.

Despite the damage, authorities have confirmed that no fatalities were reported in the latest incidents.

According to the Delhi Fire Service (DFS), emergency teams received reports of nine house collapse incidents and 16 cases of uprooted trees since Thursday night.

Rescue personnel responded promptly to multiple locations across the city. In one incident, three women trapped after a tree fell were safely rescued by emergency responders.

The heavy downpour also led to severe waterlogging in several parts of Delhi, disrupting traffic and slowing vehicular movement during peak hours.

Rainwater reportedly entered sections of Safdarjung Hospital, adding to the challenges faced by residents and authorities. Many low-lying areas witnessed flooded roads, causing inconvenience to commuters.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall over the next two days and has advised residents to remain cautious, particularly in areas prone to waterlogging and falling trees.

A yellow alert remains in place as the city continues to experience an active monsoon spell.

Delhi has recorded one of its wettest starts to August in recent years, with persistent rainfall bringing relief from the heat but also exposing weaknesses in urban infrastructure.

Authorities have urged people to avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rain and to report emergencies immediately to the concerned departments.
