Ganesh Chaturthi: Hyderabad's Dhoolpet Area to Face Traffic Restrictions Until September 14

Hyderabad: Traffic restrictions will come into force in and around Dhoolpet from 7 am today to facilitate the sale, purchase and transportation of Ganesh idols ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi, according to the Hyderabad Traffic Police.

General traffic will not be permitted between Boiguda Kaman and Gandhi Statue in either direction. Vehicles carrying Ganesh idols will be allowed to enter through Gandhi Statue and Puranapul and exit via Boiguda Kaman crossroads.

Traffic diversions announced

Traffic police said general traffic, including lorries, travelling from Puranapul and Gandhi Statue towards Mangalhat will be diverted through Takkarwadi T-junction, Jinsi Chowrahi and Ghode-ki-Khabar.

Vehicles travelling from Seetarambagh towards Mangalhat and Puranapul will be diverted at Boiguda Kaman towards Aghapura, Ghode-ki-Khabar, Jinsi Chowrahi, Takkarwadi T-junction and Jummerat Bazaar before proceeding towards Puranapul.

Similarly, traffic from Darussalam towards Puranapul via Mangalhat will be diverted at Aghapura towards Ghode-ki-Khabar and Takkarwadi T-junction.

Idol-carrying vehicles to wait at Jummerat Bazaar

Lorries and mini-lorries carrying Ganesh idols must be parked at the Jummerat Bazaar ground and will be allowed to collect idols only after 10 pm. Additional parking space has also been arranged along 100 Feet Road and Puranapul.

In case of heavy rain, vehicles will be parked in a single line from MJ Bridge towards Jummerat Bazaar to regulate traffic and prevent congestion.

Restrictions to remain until September 14

The traffic restrictions will remain in force until 10 pm on September 14. Motorists have been advised to use alternate routes and cooperate with traffic personnel during the restriction period.
