Kauvery Hospital, Chennai Airport launch Heart Safe Initiative with installation of 13 AEDs

Kauvery Hospital and Chennai International Airport jointly inaugurated the Heart Safe Initiative on August 5, 2026, with the installation of 13 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) at the airport. The initiative is aimed at strengthening the airport's preparedness to respond to sudden cardiac emergencies.

The initiative was inaugurated in the presence of Mr. Raja Kishore, Director, Chennai International Airport, and Dr. Manivannan S, Founder and Managing Director, Kauvery Group of Hospitals, along with senior officials from the airport and Kauvery Hospital.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Raja Kishore, Director, Chennai International Airport, said: "Chennai International Airport is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for every passenger, visitor and employee. Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Manivannan S, Founder and Managing Director, Kauvery Group of Hospitals, said: "At Chennai International Airport, Kauvery Hospital's 24x7 emergency clinics are equipped with medical equipment and supported by emergency physicians, nurses and trained paramedics who can respond to medical emergencies. The addition of AEDs further strengthens the emergency response capability, enabling timely defibrillation alongside medical care."
