* **Yaba Tablets (Methamphetamine):** In a major operation near the Ghojadanga Border Outpost (BOP), BSF's 102 Battalion intercepted concealed contraband containing nearly **69,347 Yaba tablets** valued at approximately **₹6.9 crore**.
* **Phensedyl (Codeine-Based Cough Syrup):** Thousands of bottles of banned codeine syrups are regularly confiscated. In a single crackdown by CID/Local Police at Airport PS covering border-linked cartels from Baduria, over **9,000 bottles of Phensedyl** were seized.
* **Heroin and Brown Sugar:** Special Task Force (STF) raids in Swarupnagar and Bagdah have netted commercial quantities of **Brown Sugar** (ranging from key grams to multi-kilogram consignments) intended for local distribution and cross-border delivery.
* **Cannabis (Ganja):** BSF and police units routinely intercept multi-kilogram consignments of Ganja (e.g., 34 kg to over 100 kg per haul) stored in border villages like Ramchanderpur and Hakimpur.
**Modus Operandi**
* **Border Fencing Exploitation:** Smugglers often throw contraband over boundary fences using improvised catapults or drop them at night near un-fenced riverine patches.
* **Vehicle Alterations:** Large consignments of Phensedyl and narcotics are hidden in modified cavities of commercial trucks crossing through the Petrapole and Ghojadanga Integrated Check Posts (ICP).
* **Local Couriers:** Cartels recruit local youths or border residents to act as "carriers" for small daily payouts.
All seized narcotics and apprehended smugglers are booked under strict provisions of the **NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act**, with ongoing efforts focused on dismantling the masterminds operating across border lines.
