MLA Dr. Siddalingappa Patil Directs Officials to Ensure Drinking Water Supply in Humnabad

Humnabad: MLA Dr. Siddalingappa Patil has directed officials to take immediate and effective measures to address monsoon-related issues and ensure that no village in the Humnabad constituency faces a shortage of drinking water.

Addressing a meeting on drought conditions and drinking water arrangements, the MLA instructed officials to investigate the unresolved water crisis in Dubalgundi, where 48 borewells are reportedly available, and take appropriate action against those responsible for the situation.

He highlighted the ₹1 crore State Government grant allocated for drinking water facilities in the constituency and directed officials to drill borewells wherever necessary, monitor groundwater levels and arrange water supply through pipelines and tankers where required.

Officials were also instructed to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply in areas affected by drinking water shortages. The MLA further directed the Humnabad, Chittaguppa and Hallikhed (B) municipalities to address issues related to drinking water pipelines connected to the Karanja Reservoir.

He also reviewed the ₹30 crore UJD project and AMRUT-2 works in Humnabad and instructed officials to ensure proper coordination between road and water infrastructure projects so that ongoing works do not create additional difficulties for residents.

Tahsildars, Taluk Panchayat officials and officers from the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department attended the meeting.

The MLA directed the concerned departments to monitor the situation regularly and take timely measures to ensure reliable drinking water supply across the constituency, particularly during the monsoon season.
