Neha Bora Targets BJP Over Voter Rights, Calls for Opposition Unity
Neha Bora raises concerns over democracy, the Constitution and the SIR voter-list revision process.
Neha Bora, in her speech, strongly criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), raising concerns about voter rights, democratic values and the protection of the Indian Constitution. She called for unity among opposition parties, students and young people to defend citizens’ democratic rights.
She alleged that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process has raised serious questions about the fairness and transparency of voter-list revisions. According to her, the process should ensure accurate voter rolls rather than create concerns about citizens’ right to vote.
Bora also emphasised that citizens must retain the right to protest peacefully and demand accountability from those responsible for conducting elections. She argued that the people of India have made significant sacrifices to establish and protect the country’s democratic system and should not accept any compromise with their voting rights.
She further criticised the Election Commission of India and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, calling for accountability over the concerns surrounding the electoral process.
Concluding her remarks, Bora highlighted the importance of unity among opposition parties and young people, stating that the protection of voter rights, democratic institutions and the Constitution would remain central to their struggle.
