The Police Martyrs Memorial Volleyball Tournament, organised under the Civic Action Programme of District Police Poonch, concluded today at Uchhad, Mankote, with great enthusiasm and participation from local youth and sports enthusiasts.

A total of 12 teams participated in the tournament, providing a competitive platform for young sportspersons to showcase their talent, discipline, teamwork, and sporting spirit. The tournament was also organised as a tribute to the brave Police Martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.

The closing ceremony was graced by SSP Poonch, Sh. Shafqat Hussain, JKPS, who appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the teams and the efforts of the organisers in successfully conducting the tournament. He interacted with the players and encouraged them to pursue sports and other constructive activities.

Knight Club emerged as the Winner, while Balakote Club secured the Runner-up position. The winning and runner-up teams were presented with trophies and prizes in recognition of their outstanding performance and dedication throughout the tournament.

SDPO Mendhar, Sh. Touseef Ahmed, was also present during the concluding ceremony and joined SSP Poonch in encouraging the participating players. The event was attended by local residents, sports enthusiasts, community members, and police personnel.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Poonch emphasised the important role of sports in promoting discipline, physical fitness, teamwork, leadership qualities, and a positive outlook among youth. He stated that such initiatives under the Civic Action Programme provide constructive avenues for young people and help strengthen the bond between the police and the community.

He further encouraged the youth to actively participate in sports and remain committed to healthy and productive pursuits, while staying away from drugs and other social evils.

The participants and local community appreciated District Police Poonch for organising the tournament and providing a meaningful platform for local sporting talent. The event concluded on a positive note, reflecting the spirit of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and community participation.
