Jaipur witnessed a politically charged atmosphere as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress organized rival protest marches on Wednesday, leading to heavy police deployment and major traffic disruptions across central parts of the city. The demonstrations were held in response to recent political developments in New Delhi, where Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders were detained during a protest near the Prime Minister's residence
The BJP, led by Rajasthan State President Madan Rathore, marched towards the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee office, alleging that the Congress had displayed "unruly conduct" during the Delhi protest. Police erected barricades to prevent the BJP workers from reaching the Congress headquarters, and water cannons were used after some protesters attempted to cross the barricades

In response, the Congress, under the leadership of State President Govind Singh Dotasra, launched a counter-protest towards the BJP headquarters. Congress leaders accused the ruling party of misusing police action to suppress democratic protests and demanded accountability over the issues that sparked the nationwide agitation. Police again intervened with barricades and crowd-control measures, and water cannons were used to stop protesters from advancing.

The simultaneous protests caused significant traffic congestion in Jaipur, with commuters facing delays as several major roads were closed or diverted. A large police force was deployed to maintain law and order and prevent any direct confrontation between workers of the two political parties. Despite heated slogans and political accusations, the situation remained under control.
The incident highlights the intensifying political rivalry between the BJP and Congress in Rajasthan, as both parties continue to use public demonstrations to reinforce their respective political positions and mobilize support ahead of future political contests.
