NEW DELHI — Consumers and defence service personnel have raised concerns regarding the quality of certain dry fruit products supplied by Sun Organic Industries Pvt. Ltd., sold under the brand name Wonderland Foods, through Canteen Stores Department (CSD) outlets.
According to complaints shared by some buyers who purchased products including walnuts and raisins from the Defence Services Officers Institute (DSOI) CSD Canteen in Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi, some packages were allegedly found to contain stale or spoiled products.
Consumers Seek Response From Company
Some affected consumers said they attempted to contact the company's customer-support channels and representatives regarding the issue. They have sought clarification and appropriate remedial action concerning the products purchased by them.
The affected packages reportedly carry FSSAI License Nos. 12724999000472 and 10012011000260. The manufacturing details mentioned on the packaging list Sun Organic Industries Pvt. Ltd., with addresses in Greater Noida and Narela, Delhi.
Consumers Call for Regulatory Inspection
Concerned buyers have requested that the relevant food-safety authorities and CSD officials examine the disputed products and, where necessary, conduct appropriate quality checks or laboratory testing.
They have also requested that any products found to be unsafe or not meeting applicable food-safety standards should be dealt with in accordance with the relevant regulations.
Products Preserved for Verification
According to the complainants, the original sealed products purchased from the DSOI Dhaula Kuan CSD outlet have been preserved and can be made available for inspection by the competent authorities.
At this stage, the concerns mentioned in the report are allegations and consumer complaints. The quality of the products and the reasons for any alleged deterioration would need to be established through appropriate inspection and laboratory testing by the competent authorities.
Need for Official Verification
Given that food products are consumed by a wide range of customers, any complaint regarding product quality should be examined through the appropriate regulatory process. An official inspection or laboratory assessment would help establish whether the products in question complied with applicable food-safety and quality standards.
Note: The company and relevant authorities should be given an opportunity to respond to the allegations. No conclusion regarding negligence, violation of food-safety regulations or public-health risk should be drawn until the matter is independently verified.
