Samastipur: Despite Bihar’s prohibition policy, attempts to transport liquor into the state continue to pose a challenge for law enforcement agencies. In the latest case, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel in Samastipur reportedly seized several bottles of liquor from a woman travelling in the First AC coach of the Swatantrata Senani Express.

The action was carried out following a specific tip-off received by the RPF. The train was travelling from New Delhi towards Jaynagar when the security team conducted a search inside the coach.

Expensive Liquor Brands Found in Luggage
During the inspection, RPF personnel allegedly found a quantity of liquor in the woman’s possession. The seized bottles reportedly included brands such as Red 6900, Paper Teacher and Blenders Pride.

Following the recovery, the woman was taken into custody for questioning. Investigators are now attempting to establish where the liquor was procured and who was supposed to receive the consignment after it reached Bihar.

The authorities are also examining whether the woman was acting independently or was transporting the liquor as part of a wider supply network.

Why the First AC Journey Drew Attention
The woman was travelling in the First AC compartment of the train when the RPF team carried out the search. The case has drawn attention because smugglers often attempt to use different modes of transport to evade checks, including passenger trains.
